Zimbabwe's elections have historically been marred by alleged vote rigging and violence. When the incumbent Emmerson Mnangagwa took over power in a November 2017 coup, EU election observers reported voter intimidation and a lack of media coverage for opposition parties and candidates. As Zimbabweans prepare for the polls in the next 48 hours, there are again fears of vote rigging.
