Lockdown in 3.0 is in full force and the first thing that came to my mind was filming a siiick lockdown edit with Jake100..
If you don't know who he is, Jake100 helped pioneer the Bike Life community, and is known for his wheelie skills, daredevil riding and organized rideouts. Through this, he has become a Nike London athlete - He plays a major role in mobilising London's youth, encouraging them to pick their bikes up and putting knives down - making a stand against knife crime and gang violence. You might have seen 'Bikes Up, Knives Down' in the news.
In a time where funding for youth services are being drastically cut, Jake100's latest 'Down to Ride' project is all about helping equip young people from marginalized backgrounds with essential skills through bike maintenance courses.
The filming was done over 5 days starting from the day the 3rd national UK lockdown was announced by Boris Johnson. Locations all shot locally within either a stone's throw (literally) or short riding distance from his neighbourhood. Was a bit of a madness shooting this, only got kicked out by security a couple times and about a zillion takes for some of the scenes. This has gotta be one of my all time bests in terms of filmmaking!
Stay safe, and Enjoy the Ride!
