In this video, Jenny reviews the latest version of the Nissan Leaf which, for us, reinstates its value as viable zero-emissions transportation. The Nissan Leaf is an electric vehicle that has been with us for a while now, so I’ve got high hopes for this latest generation.
The Leaf comes with an electric motor that gives 110 kW and 320 Nm of instantly available torque. It has a 40kWh laminated lithium-ion battery that gives it 270 km of WLTP range. I should point out that only the European model was tested for WLTP, but it should have the same battery and powertrain. EPA range gives 243 km.
Driveaway pricing for Nissan is about 53k which keeps it competitive against EV rivals like the Hyundai Ioniq, Tesla Model3, and BMW i3.
I think there is definitely space for the Nissan Leaf on the market, but now let's just see EVs, in general, become a little more affordable.
