Prime Minister Narendra Modi called on former President of India Pranab Mukherjee almost a week after the Bharatiya Janata Party's sweeping victory in the Lok Sabha elections. Mukherjee congratulated PM Modi for his victory in the polls, as the latter sought the former's blessings. PM Modi called Mukherjee a 'statesman who has made an indelible contribution to our nation'. Modi is slated to take oath on May 30 to begin his second consecutive term in office.
