At St John’s we value our catholic identity and being part of a parish community. We commence each day with meditation, focusing on a sacred space within the room. ‘Student voice’ is considered when planning lessons to allow for wonderings and dialogue. We keep our faith relevant and transformative through scripture, songs and prayer as we persist in our mission to love and forgive one another. As a FIRE Carrier school we focus on reconciliation with indigenous Australians and we have a strong social justice program to raise awareness about the many injustices in our society.
By recontextualising bible stories we keep the messages of love, kindness, compassion and forgiveness relevant today. Community engagement in the Sacraments of Eucharist, Confirmation and Reconciliation is in partnership with our parish community and through intergenerational programs, class masses and liturgies.
