This is an alternative recipe for a traditional Polish Szarlotka without the butter and without modification of it's taste. Fortunately there is a way to make this great recipe by substituting butter for oil and saving some unnecessary saturated fat and some cholesterol.
Ingredients for Dough:
400 grams all purpose flour
110 grams granulated white sugar
2 medium egg yolks
2 tablespoons sour cream
170 grams oil ( I used 100% Canola oil)
1.5 teaspoon baking powder
1 pinch salt
Apple Filling:
1.5 kg fresh apples
1 tablespoon cinnamon (optional)
3 tablespoons granulated white sugar (if your apples are sweet, avoid using additional sugar)
1 medium lemon (squeezed)
