I've watched loads of these videos but none seemed to just cover the really basic working parts and simple navigational techniques of the SCUBA DIVERS COMPASS.
In this video, I'll name all the working parts of the standard SCUBA DIVERS COMPASS, which are the bezel, degree markings, lubber line, index markers, luminous compass face, and the aperture window.
I'll then go on to explain how to take a bearing, travel along it, and then a reciprocal bearing to return to your start point.
There are generally 5 types of compass used in scuba diving 4 are very similar with variations in how they attach to the diver (watch strap, bungee, gauge mounted, or retractable leash) then there is the integrated electronic compass on your dive computer. For this episode, it is the analog wrist mount I'll be using.
