British Columbia Premier John Horgan said individuals who are returning to Canada -- with a particular focus on ‘snowbirds’ – must have a self-isolation plan to present to B.C. officials upon arrival.
Horgan, who made the comments during a press conference Wednesday afternoon, added the self-isolation plan is mandatory. Forms will be made available on the flight for those returning to the country, as well as online, and must be filled out in detail for B.C. officials to review once the individual has arrived back in the country.
For individuals who do not have a self-isolation plan, Horgan said officials will make a ‘quarantine unit’ available for the individual who can self-isolate there for 14 days.
The premier also stressed the importance to continue social and physical distancing as the Easter long weekend approaches and reiterated this is not the time for gatherings, but did inform the children of B.C. that the Easter Bunny will still carry out its work.
