The average person uses their cell phone for 7 HOURS a day. Have you ever noticed how bad your posture is when you are texting? The average human head weighs 13 pounds. By simply bending your neck 45 degrees, your head now weighs 49 lbs. When you bend it down even more to 60 degrees, your head now weighs 60 lbs.
Multiply that by the HOURS spend on your devises and your get NECK PAIN, NECK MUSCLE STAIN, HEADACHES, SHOULDER PAIN, PINS and NEEDLES in the arms, hands, fingers.
There are two things you can do to help change this.
#1: STOP using your phone so much!
#2: Change the position you are in when using your devices.
- Lay on your stomach and have your elbows resting on whatever surface you choose.
- While sitting down, shift forward, place bend down at the hips but maintain a nice straight spine, place your elbows on your knees.
By changing your head position, you change the load placed on your neck joints, muscles, tendons, ligaments, and discs. By doing this you will ease the strain and help prevent neck issues in the future.
