Does PSA Grading Company, grade certain cards harder, then others? How about a rookie card vs. a Mantle card or Hank Aaron? What about a 1980 Nolan Ryan vs. Ricky Henderson?
I wanted to look at the PSA population reports and run the data for myself! I looked at 4 different decades and picked years with iconic rookie cards. The 1955 Topps set with Roberto Clement and Sandy Koufax, the 1968 Topps set with Nolan Ryan and Johny Bench, the 1975 Topps set with Robin Yount and George Brett, the 1980 Topps set with Ricky Henderson. I wanted to look at PSA 8, 9, 10's for those cards vs. other popular cards of the set and the results were surprising.
