After West Bengal BJP president Sukanta Majumdar was admitted to a hospital in Kolkata, BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari on February 14 alleged that police has mishandled Majumdar and it was done deliberately by them.
Suvendu Adhikari said, “The way West Bengal Police manhandled Sukanta Majumdar, it was done deliberately. Mamata Banerjee is responsible for this behaviour...He is currently kept in ICU.”
West Bengal BJP president Sukanta Majumdar was injured during a police lathi charge as a scuffle broke out between Police and party workers in Basirhat on Feb 13. The West Bengal government have reimposed section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC) in and around 500 metres of area in seven-gram panchayats, including Sandeshkhali.
