Most people associate electric scooters with the cheap, flimsily built glorified bicycles that would struggle to keep up with a half-decent sprinter. But Bengaluru-based company, Ather, has proved otherwise with their first pair of properly premium electric scooters - the 340 and 450, priced at Rs 1.09 lakh and 1.24 lakh respectively (on-road, Bengaluru).

The Ather 450 is powered by an electric motor capable of 3.3kW of continuous power output and a peak output of 5.4kW, as well as a peak torque figure of 20.5Nm. Packing a 2.4kWh battery pack, the 450 has a realistic range of 60km in Power mode and 75km in Eco mode with a top speed of 80kmph. It also packs some cutting edge features such as a 7" full colour touchscreen dashboard with built in navigation.
