How much do Britain’s New Ranger Regiment get paid?
This is Britain's new Special Operations Cable regiment, they conduct missions previously carried out by special forces personnel.
Much like the Pathfinders, you can’t go straight from civilian to Ranger. First you need to have already passed basic training and have served in the army for 18 months.
After this you can then volunteer to undertake the ranger assessment cadre. This is a two week intensive course designed to test your mental and physical fortitude. It culminates in a brutal 100km team patrol.
If you pass this you’ll then move onto the ten week All Arms Ranger Course. This is less of a test and more akin to training as the AARC has a 90% pass rate.
So assuming you aren’t one of the unlucky 10%, you’ll join one of the 4 ranger battalions and receive another 8 months of role and mission specific training.
So how much are you getting paid?
Well again much like the pathfinders, these guys are special operations cable but aren’t actually special forces soldiers. This means they aren’t on the increased Special Forces Pay table and instead receive the same amount as a regular army soldier.
This means a Lance Corporal shall earn around £30,800, a Corporal Shall earn around £35,700 and a Sergeant Shall earn £40,000.
