Mikayelian is an accomplished classical guitarist, arranger, conductor, and instructor. He is currently a guitar professor at the Lebanese National Higher Conservatory of Music, Hamazkayin Parsegh Ganatchian College of Music, Antonine University, and teaches at the Theological Seminary of Armenian Catholicossate of Cilicia, Antelias-Bikfaya, Lebanon.

He is the coordinator of the classical guitar division of the Hamazkayin Parsegh Ganatchian College and the founder, artistic director, and conductor of the Guitar Ensemble and the Hamazkayin Davigh Orchestra at Parsegh Ganatchian College of Music. In addition to teaching and performing in concerts, he is also the author of the book “Armenian Liturgy and Armenian Songs for Guitar” published by the Armenian Catholicossate of Cilicia in 2002.
