Men take turns stirring the molten mixture with long metal spoons that frequently need traded out and cooled in a large vat of water. Some glass is scooped out and poured onto a metal rolling slab to flatten the puddle into a uniform thickness. Then the \slab is lifted into a long enclosed tunnel which it slowly is carried through by conveyor belt. In 6 hours the slab will come to room temperature.
