Happy Birthday to our teacher, Dr. Yang, Jwing-Ming!
Here he is performing Yao Gu (Shake the Drum, 搖鼓) in his hometown of Hsinchu, Taiwan during our graduation trip.
On March 18, 2018 we went to Hsinchu to pay our respects to our White Crane grandmaster, Cheng, Gin-Gsao (曾金灶). We were greeted by Master Cheng’s children and past students. Celebrations followed with a big welcoming meal, lion dancing, and a casual exchange of performances. Thank you to the Wu-An (武安) family for the memorable day!

Yao Gu incorporates elements of White Crane and Tiger Claw. It was originally created by Grandmaster Cheng, Gin-Gsao to fit the larger body type of one of his students. This sequence emphasizes aggressive techniques and movements designed to invade an opponent's space.
