Pashtuns, who are ethnic Afghans, straddle the 'so called' Durand Line drawn by Britishers in late 19th century. They have a long history of both armed and peaceful struggle against the British occupiers of their homeland and later Pakistan. They are among the pioneers who raised their banner of self rule and later partnered with All India Congress to press for independence from the British colonial power.
In this interview, Dr. Dervaish Apridi, who has done his PhD from Michigan University on Baloch & Pashtun Nationalism in Pakistan, is shedding light on ups and downs and gains and losses of Pashtuns through out their political struggle both before and after the partition of India.
