Amazon’s Alexa might soon mimic the voice of the user’s dear ones even if they are dead
It would mimic the voice based on less than a minute of provided recording
The capability was revealed at Amazon's Re:Mars 2022 held in Las Vegas.
Rohit Prasad, vice president and head scientist for Alexa, said the feature was to build greater
trust in Alexa’s interactions with users by putting more human attributes of empathy and affect
Amazon found the feature important during the pandemic due to high death rates
The brand has not disclosed when the feature will be launched
