I always wanted to use a donut bar or donut wall at a party. But every time I've been near one, I haven't been able to eat the donuts given my nut allergy. So being able to eat from one is the goal - thus a DIY Donut Bar is the solution.
Supplies
-Frame
-Pegboard
-Pegs
-white spray paint
-Nails
Instructions
1.Clean the frame of any dirt and ensure it is dry
2.Spray paint the frame in your desired colour. Multiple coats will likely be required. Let paint dry
3.Take your pre-cut pegboard and fit in frame white side down
4.Hammer nails on an angle then straight to secure pegboard
5.Paint the back of the frame and pegboard if you wish
6.Trace a donut to make a template and cut a few out
7.Place pegs in spots in pegboard based on template
8.Hang donuts on pegs
9.Move the pegs and donut templates until you get the right arrangement
I didn’t paint the pegs because you can’t see them and I was being paranoid that I would poison myself. But I’m sure it would be fine if you painted them. You couldn't see the natural wood with the donuts on them anyway.
To display I put my frame on an easel on a table; but kept the string on the back in case I ever wanted to hang it, which likely would not happen.
