German Football has evolved greatly over the years, but in 1963 the Bundesliga began - paving the way for the fantastic league we love today 🤩 It started with just 16 teams - but who were they?... Germany's biggest and most successful football club, Bayern Munich wasn't selected for the inaugural season, but 1860 represented München instead. Only 4 of the original Bundesliga founding members are currently in Germany's top division. They are VfB Stuttgart, Eintracht Frankfurt, Borussia Dortmund & Werder Bremen (who hold the record with Bayern for most seasons spent in the Bundesliga - 60).
