Starting with pick up from Stowmarket on class 90, 90004 and 82133. A cluster of Freightliner class 66s at the stabling point, many of the new class 755 plus a few class 745s. The 755 horn is the worst horn i have ever heard on a train in this country. The new units are not the best looking and it was clear that a number of them were still having issues as there was a number of train fault announcements. The diesel engines on the class 755 make more noise than a class 68 particularly when the fans come on, you can not talk to the person next to you ever when you are half coach length away. The class 745 have got tremendous acceleration. I did notice that the length is pretty much the same as a class 90 set with 8 mk.3s and a class 82. The coaches are rather short and only have one set of doors in the centre which would say is not the safest in an emergency.
Three pairs of Freightliner class 86s which was nice to see just before there retirement, Freightliner getting the most out of them. Possibly one of the last times i video and photography out of a train window on the mainline with the number of slam mk.3 coaches slowly disappearing.
A nice departing class 37 37402 thrash.
