On March 18, 2023 The Schneider Museum of Art presented Dennis McNett's (aka Wolfbat Studios) 'What The Robins Whispered A Procession to Celebrate the Coming of Spring in Ashland, Oregon.
This procession of artists, puppets, music and community members gathered wearing handmade masks and costumes convened on the Ashland Plaza for a ceremony where community members will asked the Spring for the new growth they would like to see come to fruition.
This project has come to life through the residency program provided by The Schneider Museum of Art at Souther Oregon University and the visiting artist Dennis McNett. He held several mask-making workshops and connected with several different community members in Ashland. What has congealed is a community project that showcased individuals' handmade masks, puppets created by the artists, music from community members and a celebration to bring in the new right growth however that is translated by the participants.
