Here are 5 ways to overcome your procrastination. First, if you find something else is more enticing and distracting, add friction to make it less appealing. To make your work more desirable, figure out ways to make it more fun, like adding music, working with a non-distracting friend, or even using a new gadget that makes it more enjoyable.
Second, if the task seems intimidating, break it down into something smaller and more manageable. Rather than reading a full chapter, focus on reading just one section.
Third, if you feel like you don't have enough time, leverage Parkinson's law to work for you, which states that work expands to fill the time allotted to it. If you're crunched, you can actually improve your efficiency.
Fourth, if you're too tired, get your body moving. Either do some chores cleaning up your apartment or do a quick workout. Both will get your energy levels up.
And fifth, schedule it regularly in your calendar. This will make working at this time a habit rather than feeling like pulling teeth.
