The three-Day meetings opened by the IGAD Executive Secretary and Minister of Agriculture Ethiopia was attended by Member State Ministers and their representatives, Development Partners, UN agencies, Civil Society organisations, and Research Institutes.
On the third day of the meetings, IGAD CPAC launched an annual Regional Focus on the Global Report on Food Crises 2022.
The meetings concluded by adopting a communique which will guide the Member States on the next implementation phase.
July 21, Istanbul, Turkiye: IGAD Executive Secretary arrives in Turkiye on a 2-day official visit to the Republic of Turkiye.
The Executive Secretary met Turkiye Foreign Minister, Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu. Discussions focused on enhancing Turkiye-IGAD cooperation in peace & security, refugees, and drought response areas.
As part of his visit, the Executive Secretary met with Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency President Serkan Kayalar. Deliberations focused on areas of mutual interest, health, education, and capacity building.
