Armenian weightlifter Garik Karapetyan put on a sensational performance to become the European champion and set a new European record. On the 8th day of the competition, Karapetyan lifted a total of 392 kg in the doubles event to secure the title.
During the snatch exercise, he lifted an impressive 178 kg, setting a new European youth record. In the clean and jerk exercise, he lifted 214 kg on his second attempt, further solidifying his dominance in the competition.
Karapetyan's incredible performance earned him the European champion title, while Georgia's Irakli Chkeidze and Moldova's Bratu Todor took home the silver and bronze medals, respectively.
