Creating a Traced Landscape Drawing Using Mark Making- Art Demonstration
This is lesson two in a series on mark making and landscapes inspired by Vincent Van Gogh.
This is a demonstration as part of a scheme of work for Year 7-9 students. The aim is of this lesson is to get them to explore line and texture in mark making working from a photograph. This will allow them to develop their drawing skills and come up with their own marks to represent different textures in the landscape.
I take you through an activity to create a drawing by placing tracing paper over a photograph then complete the drawing using mark making. Moving forward students will use these skills to develop their own drawing of a landscape.
This gives the students a chance to explore pencil and pen to develop drawing skills using line and texture. Exploring mark making is a key skill to develop when improving your drawing skills.
Equipment- Landscape photographs, tracing paper, pencil, pen, fine liner and paper.
