Based on the fact these aircraft are so close to the shoreline, I’m not sure if the sea air/conditions has anything to do with this, but it’s something I’ve never seen before, apart from a B52 takeoff! This is something reminiscent of the early jet age, but even back then they were trying to eliminate the black smoke with more efficient engines and the stopping of water-injection
So in 2024, this is a crazy thing to witness right? This is not evident, at least to this extent, when filming the very same aircraft at other airports, I can only put this down to environmental conditions 🤷🏼♂️ these PW4000 engines are old, first run in 1984! Multi-bladed and old technology compared to the cleaner, more efficient modern engines. I’m just surprised, especially considering the environment (Hawaii) that these engines have not been outlawed 🤔
NOTE: this was not just one example, but many departures. Even the GE90 powered 777’s were Smokey, but not on this level.
