This speech is being given by John Crawley in memory of IRA Volunteer Liam Ryan.
Liam Ryan lived in the Bronx, was an American citizen, and worked for ConEdison. He organized aid for the IRA in the US, and was on the front lines of the war against British occupation of his native Tyrone. He was murdered by agents of the British government, who have never been brought to justice.
This is his 35th anniversary.
John Crawley is the author of "The Yank: My Life as a Former US Marine in the IRA.”
