Today Don Copeland is going to show us a demonstration with the Compress IUV- 600S and is going to make a custom travel cup for a conical Item. This would describe an item that isn’t perfectly cylindrical but instead tapers down.

We always try to help out our fellow associates and this is going to be a custom player number for an associates grandson on a little league baseball team. We have already loaded up the printer with our rotary jig and the bed extension. It is pulled out to go ahead and load which is very simple.

What you do is push the little clack lever down which is a spring loaded clip to hold the cup in place. On the other end is the adjustable idler that has been positioned to raise the tapered edge of the cup up – to provide a level printing area. This is so vital. In fact, you will want to take a leveler like we do here and make sure that it is good and flat.

Next you will want to roll the rotary jig along the bed extension under the laser to check the height to make sure it clears. Its good! So we are going to go ahead and lock the bed height now. We do that because we will be reaching in and around the cup and we don’t want to accidently trip it and lower the bed. Roll it into place and then send the job over!

White its printing (which is really beautiful to watch) here are some interesting facts. This is a single print up, less than 9 cents worth of ink going down on this. It’s a white under base with a color layer on top. It will print the white layer first and then it will rotate back over and begin printing the color layer.

Once it’s done it will eject out and we can lift the lid to release the spring loaded clip to remove the cup. There it is, a beautiful print on a conical (tapered) cup. This can be done on all different sizes and on cylindrical items as well!
