Volunteers removed plastic waste, Wednesday, November 18, from litter traps placed on a river in Johannesburg, South Africa.
The volunteers, from South African NGO Fountain Rivers Earth Sanctuary Hennops, were working on the Hennops River, in the Clayville township of Tembisa.
The litter traps were placed two weeks ago and have already accumulated a large amount of waste.
The project also aids locals in need of work by paying them to help with the clean up operation. (AFP)
