It was the most expensive Indian film ever at the time, subsequently becoming the highest grossing Indian film ever, a record it held for several years.

After ascending to the throne, King Shamsher Singh begins a reign of terror and oppression. A young commoner named Jai then decides to challenge the king and kidnaps his sister.
