“We won’t accept energy colonialism,” Mohamed Adow, a prominent activist and director of the energy and climate think tank Power Shift Africa, said at the UN climate talks on Monday. The EU is using the continent as a “gas station,” as it seeks alternatives to Russian imports, and risks threatening to lock Africa into polluting fossil fuels.
