Arid rocks and exotic Joshua trees are the elements of a sun-scorched earth and the evocative setting where the new collection comes to life. Elisabetta Franchi was able to take classic silhouettes such as the A-line midi dress and tailored suits and place a modern twist on them. The geometric aesthetic that brings life to the collection is expressed through refined black-cream combinations in the tops, dresses, and the lapel of jackets, or in elegant stripes for a sophisticated high-class look. From the tulle transparencies to the oblique skin-revealing slits, all the way to the extra long eco-suede fringes, the iconic elements of the SS16 collection combine to evoke a rebellious Amazon, with interlacing, straps, eyelets, and glinting metallic embroideries alluding to the gilded armour of a modern Joan of Arc. Extra-short high-waisted hot pants are combined with crop tops and micro jackets to reveal all the key components of female seduction.
