In this video, I'll show you how you can pair your smartphone via bluetooth and register your device on Garmin Connect using the Garmin Connect Mobile smartphone.

It is best to not have any other devices paired to your phone when doing the initial pairing. I had problems until I turned off those devices and did the pairing procedure without interference.
First, open up GARMIN CONNECT MOBILE on your smartphone and tap on MORE then GARMIN DEVICES to see the list of devices you are currently paired with.
Click on ADD DEVICE
The wizard will try to find your device but be aware that you need to wait until this fails for you to see ALL COMPATIBLE DEVICES. From there you can navigate down to the GPSMAP series and select the 66.
Next is to put the GPSMAP 66 into pairing mode. You do this from the MAIN MENU | SETUP | BLUETOOTH
When doing this for the first time, you can put the device into pairing mode. Now you can return to your smartphone and try to find your device. From this point it is very similar to how you pair bluetooth devices.
After a few minutes, you should have the device paired and if you return to SETUP | BLUETOOTH on your GPSMAP 66, you can turn on or off the notifications or forget the device if you want to pair again or want to manage the which phones your garmin connects to.
