An Arizona Department of Public Safety trooper was injured in a shooting near 21st Avenue and Thomas Road late Monday morning, according to Phoenix police. The trooper is believed to have non-life-threatening injuries. Phoenix police say the incident started near 21st Avenue and Thomas Road where a DPS trooper was shot by a suspect just after 11:30 a.m. The trooper had originally made contact with the suspect for a civil traffic incident, according to Phoenix police.
