My buddy had a 4 inch crack in his kayak. He was taking on a lot of water so we needed to fix it. We plastic welded the crack first, then sanded it down. We then added some chicken wire to reinforce the weld. Sanded again and then plastic welded on top of the wire. Sanded one more time and then added the gator patch. The gator patch seems to be a resin and it hardens with natural sunlight or UV light in about 30 mins to an hour.
