The bush fires surrounding Sydney have curtailed my bass fishing this summer quite a bit, but today I took the kayak up a small local creek in search of Australian Bass on fly. You have got to love the tenacity of these fish, despite the severe drought they are still up in the fresh water reaches of local creeks, although not in the numbers or size that they could be if we had some decent rain.
This video, like a lot of my videos, is not about skull dragging in endless numbers of gigantic fish, it's more about the adventure and the experience of exploring these little gems that still exist around the edges of Sydney.
This is the first time I have filmed a trip using the GoPro Max shooting in 360 video and then reframing in the edit. That allows all sorts of interesting camera moves an following the action in a way that is not possible with a normal camera. Let me know if you like it.
