This recording is part of the OSAA online course, The Peace and Development Nexus in Africa: Governance, Financing, and Country Systems, offered in collaboration with the UN System Staff College and funded by the UN Peace and Development Trust Fund. Designed for policymakers, UN officials, researchers, and general audiences, the course delves into the critical intersections of governance, financing, and institutional capacity for sustainable peace and development in Africa.
The fifth and final webinar, held on 12 December, focused on Module 5: the transformative potential of Home-Grown School Feeding (HGSF) programmes as macro-policy interventions. Drawing on OSAA’s 2024 policy paper, Homegrown School Feeding Programmes in Africa, the session examined how HGSF programmes can align with national development goals to deliver multifaceted impacts across education, health, agriculture, energy access, and climate adaptation.

- Repositioning HGSF programmes as strategic tools for achieving the SDGs and Agenda 2063.
- Integrating renewable energy solutions to address energy poverty and promote climate adaptation.
- Strengthening local food systems by empowering smallholder farmers and enhancing economic resilience.
- Deploying digital public infrastructure (DPI) to improve governance and institutional efficiency.
