Canco del Lladre or 'Robbers' song' is an arrangement of a Catalan folk song by the famous Spanish guitarist Miguel Llobet. This piece has a beautiful and memorable melody and the maestro Llobet put in place a beautiful sequence of chords to support the gentle lilting melody.

This piece is also in the Grade 6 syllabus for the Trinity College of London classical guitar exam. It is quite short but even so there are some lovely technical challenges particularly with the natural harmonics that permeate the piece and provide a kind of counter melody.

The assiduous student should play that harmonics with the right-hand closer to the bridge for increased clarity.

All guitar tabs for my lessons are free and can be downloaded easily from our website or for a very small fee you can also purchase the guitar sheet music that contains standard music notation with guitar tabs underneath, suggested left & right-hand fingerings, and performance indications.

I hold a Licentiate in Performance Classical Guitar with Distinction from the Trinity College of London and I love arranging music for guitar. I have well over 20 years of teaching experience at many schools in New Zealand and also at one school in Dubai, and privately in Bahrain.
