A no continue playthrough on very hard difficulty with the goal of defeating Shinnok.

I achieved the goal, but I died so many times and messed up so badly on the Quan Chi fight so many times that it left a bad taste in the run. If you're wondering why I didn't just use healing items in the Quan Chi fight, it's because I wanted a really good fight against him without using healing items since it was the last real battle of the game. I messed up so many things and could't do the 6 hit combo on him properly, so I chose death to restart the fight. I didn't get the fight I wanted until the 4th attempt, lol.

The only thing that can hurt Shinnok's last form is Sub-Zero's final move: Polar Blast. This move uses up almost all the freeze meter, so there's no time to wait for the bar to refill since Shinnok will reach you within seconds. You have use Polar Blast 5 times to defeat Shinnok. So 4-5 Urns of Vitality are required as it's the only item that can restore the freeze meter to full in this battle. So it was quite a challenge to always have 5 Urns of Vitality taking up space in the inventory and not being allowed to use it for almost the entire game. There is a secret area in the Bridge of Immortality stage that has 3 Urns of Vitality hidden up there. But it's really tricky to get up there. The only way up there is have the enemy uppercut you while you're in the air. If you can pull it off, those 3 extra Urns of Vitality is a huge advantage for you. If you can't get to it, then from what I've seen, you will only find 5 Urns of Vitality total without the secret area. I don't know if there are more Urns in other difficulties.

I went for the moral route as in not doing fatalities on the only two people you can do it in this game. My thumbnail shows Scorpion in the background, but that movie does not appear in this run since you don't fight him again if you don't kill him in the first stage. I chose that thumbnail because Sub-Zero's expression is hilarious (much better than his expression in the alternate cutscene when Shinnok is in the background).

Award for best death goes to 42:28 , but for maximum humor, start from 42:20 ^_^

This was played on emulator. No cheats. No save states. No tool-assists.

Overall, this was a so so run. I wish it could've been better, but I don't have it in me to do this again, lol.
