This windmill palm (trachycarpus fortunei) I planted about two years ago is flowering for the first time so I get to find out if it's male or female.
I'd like to be able to propagate new plants from my own seeds and have one other mature windmill palm that flowers, so I'm hoping for a bit of luck here on this one.
First indication is this smaller one is a male and the taller one I have is a female (it has flowered for several years). The males flower first and my taller windmill palm doesn't have any flowers yet (female). Hopefully, she's into short guys.
