On the bitterly cold morning of 25th February 2016, Gresley A3 Pacific No. 60103 'Flying Scotsman' returned to London Kings Cross for the first time in several years after a lengthy overhaul.
The locomotive and it's train arrived at Kings Cross just after 07:20am, to a warm reception by the national and international media, passengers travelling on the train, enthusiasts and curious passing commuters! The train left Kings Cross at 07:40am sharp for York.
One could compare this run, certainly in terms of its significance and coverage by the media, to 60103's now famous final run under British Railways service from Kings Cross on 14th January 1963.
These images and video capture both Flying Scotsman's arrival to and departure from Kings Cross, en-route to York.
