শিমুলিয়া-মাঝিরকান্দি নৌপথে সকাল থেকে লঞ্চ চলাচল শুরু হয়েছে। সকাল ১০টায় প্রথম লঞ্চটি মঙ্গলমাঝি-সাত্তার মাতবর ঘাট থেকে শিমুলিয়ার উদ্দেশ্যে ছেড়ে যায় একই সময়ে শিমুলিয়া থেকেও একটি লঞ্চ জাজিরা প্রান্তে এসে পৌঁছায়। যাত্রীরা জানান, দীর্ঘ দুই মাস ভোগান্তি হয়েছে। এলাকায় যাতায়াতে পদ্মা সেতু পার হয়ে তিনটি যানবাহন পারাপার হয়ে যেতে হয়েছে।
