Philosopher and author Yuval Noah Harari has given a chilling warning of the possibility of millions, and even billions of fake humans “overrunning society” amid the rise of AI.
“If you have enough data on someone, enough footage of how they look, of how they move around, their voice, how they sound, you can create deepfakes of that person," he told Sky News Australia host Piers Morgan.
“Human society is basically based on trust between human beings.
“We are facing as a possibility of millions even billions of fake humans overrunning our society leading to the collapse of trust between people."
He said the only way to prevent this is to ban “fake humans”.
