Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa today visited Panjgur area of Balochistan. The COAS spent the day with soldiers who repulsed a terrorist attack on a security forces camp in Panjgur on February 2.
Upon arrival in Panjgur, the local commander briefed the COAS in detail about the security situation in the area and the response mechanism to effectively prevent emerging threats.
Speaking to the troops, COAS praised the professionalism and effective response of the ground forces against the recent terrorist activities.
The COAS called for maintaining high standards of operational readiness to destabilize Balochistan and thwart opposition efforts to ensure the safety and security of the local population.
The COAS paid tribute to the martyrs for their great sacrifice in the defense of the motherland.
Talking to Panjgur dignitaries and tribal elders, COAS commended them for their support to LEAs in fighting the scourge of terrorism. Breaking the nexus between terrorists and their sympathizers, the support base, is essential to defeat terrorism, COAS reiterated. The COAS assured the local elders of all possible cooperation of the Army in creating an environment for the prosperity and development of the region, especially in ensuring timely completion of ongoing socio-economic projects. The COAS said that terrorists would not be allowed to reap the benefits of hard work regardless of the challenges.
Earlier on arrival, Corps Commander Quetta Lieutenant General Sarfraz Ali received the Army Chief.
