Instead of celebrating the moment, Biden mumbled awkwardly through the lyrics, leaving everyone wondering if he even knew why the young man was there. The gaffe was another embarrassing reminder of Biden’s ongoing struggles to handle even the simplest of public appearances. If this is the best the “leader of the free world” can do, maybe we should all lower our expectations—significantly.
