If you're a tourist visiting Dubai, you may be eligible for a Value Added Tax (VAT) refund on goods you've purchased in the UAE, provided that you meet the following conditions:

You're a non-resident of the UAE.
You're over 18 years old.
You're not a crew member of the airline that you're departing on.
You've purchased goods from retailers that are registered in the Tax Refund for Tourists Scheme.
You're leaving the UAE within 90 days of your purchase with the goods you've bought.
To claim your VAT refund, follow these steps at Dubai International Airport:

Before you check-in your luggage, present your purchases, original tax invoices, passport and boarding pass to the VAT Refund Office at the airport. You can find the office at the departure area of Terminal 3.
The VAT Refund Officer will verify your purchases and original tax invoices. You will need to provide them with your bank account details, so they can process the refund directly to your account. Alternatively, you can receive the refund in cash at one of the designated counters at the airport.
After the officer has verified your documents, you'll receive a Tax Free tag that you should attach to your purchases. You should keep these goods with you as they will be inspected by Customs as you depart the country.
Once you've cleared security, you can either visit one of the designated cash refund counters or use the self-service kiosks to complete the process and receive your refund.
It's important to note that there is a minimum spend amount of AED 250 for each tax invoice, and a maximum refund amount of AED 7,000 per day per person. Also, a handling fee of 4.8% of the refunded amount is charged by the tax refund operator.
