Shamsur Rahman Faruqui, a well-known name in the Urdu world, has died at the age of 85. He breathed his last at his home in Allahabad at around 11 am on 25 December. Dastangoi Collective, an active Twitter page on social media related to Dastangoi, has shared the news of Shamsur's Faruqi's demise. He will be buried at 6 pm in the Nevada cemetery of Ashoknagar, Allahabad. His wife Jamila, who died in 2007, was also buried in this cemetery.
