Last week, we kicked off our 2nd #CVC community event with ENGIE Factory Asia-Pacific and Mandai Wildlife Group, with a panel discussing our approaches to Venture Building. A huge thank you to ENGIE's Edwin Cheang, Mandai's Anthony Chan, and our very own Harald Eltvedt for sharing their successes, challenges and tips in such a transparent way, and a very special thanks to Professor Claudia Zeisberger from INSEAD for firing up the discussion with great expertise, knowledge and experience.

Anthony Chan, Mandai Wildlife Group
Anthony brings product and venture building experience to help drive Mandai’s transformation and commercialization efforts specializing in 0 to 1. Previously Anthony was a founding member of Royal Bank of Canada’s consumer team at RBC Ventures, having co-founded Canada’s first dual-card linked loyalty program and lead the pilot for RBC’s first startup commercial accelerator. He has global experience having lead Mastercard’s Priceless Cities and related digital programs to drive global cross border and e-commerce in both Canada and across APMEA and is an industry expert in publishing and linked loyalty.
Edwin Cheang, ENGIE Factory
At ENGIE Factory, Edwin is responsible for developing the right platform and environment for Venture Building. He has led the expansion of Venture Building capabilities from Singapore to new geographies such as Australia, and is leading the strategic development of ENGIE Factory’s capabilities to create value creating Ventures.
Harald Eltvedt, SC Ventures
Harald Eltvedt is a serial entrepreneur and experienced marketer with more than 15 years of experience. He is a member of SC Ventures, Standard Chartered Bank’s innovation, fintech investment and ventures arm. He was previously Managing Director at digital transformation agency Havas-ekino, co-founder of interactive agency RevSquare and healthme. Harald is passionate about swimming and co-founded Open Swim Stars with former Olympic swimmers.
Claudia Zeisberger, INSEAD
Claudia is a Senior Affiliate Professor of Entrepreneurship & Family Enterprise at INSEAD, and the Founder of the school’s private equity & venture capital centre GPEI. Through the centre’s work, INSEAD has established itself as the go-to source for insights on private capital in emerging markets and impact investing.
Professor Zeisberger advises corporations, institutional investors and governments on Private Capital portfolio construction and best practices, Corporate Venture Capital, Environmental Social and Governance (ESG), EdTech, Corporate Turnarounds, Risk Management, and the launch of Sovereign Wealth Funds.
She has over 30 years of experience as a finance professional and as an expert with deep experience in risk management, private equity and venture capital, Corporate Venturing and Innovation. As a Professor at INSEAD, she is a global citizen and award-winning author as well as an angel investor. She is a member of KKR’s Sustainable Expert Advisory Committee (SEAC) and sits on the Advisory Boards of Standard Chartered Ventures, Linzor Capital, BG Ventures and KaizenVest. Passionate about the future of education, she acts as a volunteer board advisor to Girl Rising, a non-profit focused on girls' education and empowerment.
