The approach on runway 05 at Venezia-Lido is considered the most beautiful on earth. On your lefthand you can enjoy an epic view to Venice. The Piazza San Marco with the famous basilica and the Palazzo Ducale seems close enough to touch them. From the sky you can see why Venice also called "La Serenissima" ("The Most Serene Highness").
But the whole region around Venice, named Veneto, is worth a trip. Beside the Adriatic Sea, you can also find bizarre rock formations like the Three Peaks (Drei Zinnen / Tre Cime di Lavaredo) and majestic mountains like glaciated Marmolada - the Queen of the Dolomites.
